(3John 2)

Just as my favorite author, Kenneth E. Hagin would say “I am a spiritual being, I have a soul, I lives in a body”.

Clearer insight is gotten from 3 John 2 which depicted that

“Beloved (His sons and daughters), I wish above all things that thou may prosper in health (body), even in your soul prospereth”

and John 3:16 further enlightened us that

Whosoever that believes in Him will have eternal life”,

thus inferring that before we knew God, we have both Body and Soul, and having known Him, we have an additional entity which is the Spirit in us.

Body is a perishable physical entity, Soul is the corruptible invincible entity that dwells in the body.

A corrupted soul will always bring condemnation and peril to the body but the Spirit is the incorruptible entity that dwells alongside with the soul in the body.

Hallelujah!, this Spirit can only be found in believer.

Spirit doesn’t behold iniquities, it leaves the body and soul and goes away until it is being recalled back through restitution and prayer of submission. Just like the earlier quote “I am a spiritual being”, John 14:26 depicts that ”the comforter; which is the Holy Spirit will the father send to you to teach you all things and to bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever He has told us”

We discern and by the work of the Holy spirit as believers. Thus, we are spiritual being. We don’t see the physical nor work as natural. John 16: 12-15 states that this Holy Spirit will teach us the supernatural.

Hence, it is the will of God for believers, that has both the body and soul to be rich, whilst it is the will of God for the believer that has both the Body and Soul together with the Spirit to be wealthy.

Being rich, is having a lot of materialistic possession, while being wealthy, is being abundant both in quantity and quality.

That is why Mathew 19:24 depicted that “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God”. Thus, we can be rich as an unbeliever with no sure expectation of heaven.

For our soul will always corrupt the body, for our soul will be quest for more through dubious ways. But as a believer, we can be wealthy and be abundant in quality (for we will have the threesome; Spirit, Body and Soul) and in quality (in material things).

King Solomon in Proverb 30:7-9 said “Two things I ask from you oh lord; remove far from me vanity and lies, give me neither poverty nor riches, feed me with food that convenient for me. lest, I be full and deny you or lest, I be poor and steal and take the name of God in vain”.

Proverb 23:4 says “Labour not to be rich; cease from thine own wisdom”. Lest, you believe in thy labour as the source of your riches.

For Proverb 11:28 says the “He that trusteth in his riches shall fall, but the righteous shall flourish as a branch”.

DON’T MISCONCEPT “No food for a lazy man”. Not taking steps towards a goal or what one wants to become is an act of frivolity and laziness deeming to bring you to abject poverty.

The bottom-line of the whole issue is that; in our labour, God will surely increase us, but when we are increased, according to Proverb 3:9 “We are to honour our God in our substance with the first fruit of our increase”. For increment comes from him and not from our supposed labour. That is why David said in Psalm 127:2 that “It is vain for us to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrow. It is the lord that giveth His beloved sleep”.

To labour and to succeed!, connection is needed with the giver of the success.

When you succeed, embrace John Wesley quote “Earn all you can and give all you can”,Meaning KEEP SUCCEEDING, KEEP BEING WEALTHY and KEEP GIVING.
